Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are common. We can check for-and treat-chlamydia, genital warts, gonorrhoea, herpes and trichomonas. We can also check bloods for syphilis, HIV and hepatitis B & C if you are at risk. You can choose to attend a male or female GP, or a female nurse. You can also attend a Genito-Urinary Medicine Clinic in Kerry General Hospital if you would be more comfortable, but consultations here are also strictly confidential.

You can be checked for STIs whether or not you have discharge, rash, lumps or bumps that you’re worried about, as many STIs have no symptoms at all.
