Haemochromatosis, or iron overload, is a very common condition in Ireland, and unusually so in North Kerry. The treatment involves having a unit of blood taken off at regular intervals until the iron is at a satisfactorily low level. We can provide this service, as well as monitoring your iron levels. Once the level is controlled, most people only need blood removed 3-4 times per year.
These may be covered by your private health insurance.
