The Department of Health provides free pregnancy-related visits; six in the first pregnancy and seven in subsequent pregnancies. Your two week and six week postnatal checks are also free.

During your pregnancy, care is shared between the hospital and us, although it is  mostly with us for the first 28 weeks in healthy pregnancies. Free pregnancy care has dramatically improved the health of mothers and babies and reduced the mortality rates associated with pregnancy.

We also see babies (whose mothers have been patients of ours during the pregnancy) up to the age of 6 weeks free of charge.
