Meet our doctors

Dr. John Casey

QUALIFICATIONS:
MB BCh BAO, DObst, DCH,
MRCGP, MMedSci, LFOM

Graduated from UCC in 1983 and following a self structured vocational scheme involving hospital posts in a number of hospitals in Cork and Kerry, completed his GP training in Cranleigh Guildford Surrey in a large 17,000 patient teaching practice. He returned to Kerry in August 1988 and worked part  time as an area medical officer before founding de novo the present Ardfert Medical Centre on 30th December 1988.
In 2001 he became a trainer on the Cork Vocational training scheme for general practice and in 2007 became assistant programme director for the South West General Practice training scheme based in Tralee IT. He tutors GP trainees on Wednesdays in Tralee IT.
Special interests: emergency medicine, paediatrics, asthma, occupational medicine.

Dr Jane McCafferty

QUALIFICATIONS:

MB BCh BAO, BMed Sc, DPD, DOWH,
Diploma in Therapeutics,
Certificate in Travel  Medicine,
Certificate in Diabetes

Graduated from UCD in 1998. She trained in medicine before specialising in general practice  through the Cork GP Training Scheme.

She has been working in Ardfert Medical Centre since 2004, with a break to work as a GP in New  Zealand for 18 months.
Special interests: dermatology, diabetes, travel medicine and women’s health.

Dr. Adrian O'Gara

QUALIFICATIONS:
MB BCh BAO, DCH,
DOWH, MRCPI, MICGP, LFOM

Graduated from UCG in 1995. He specialised in gastroenterology before specialising in general practice through the Cork GP Training Scheme.

He has been working in Ardfert Medical Centre since 2003, with a break to work in Australia for a number of months.

He is a trainer for the South West GP Training Scheme.

Special interests: dermatology, paediatrics,
gastroenterology.

Dr Mohamed Mohamedsaeed

Dr. Yvonne Nunan

QUALIFICATIONS:
MB Bch BAO, DCH, DRCOG,
Cert Family Planning, LARC tutor.

Graduated from NUIG in 2006, she trained in medicine before completing specialised training with the Southwest GP Training Scheme.

She has spent time working in east Cork, Cork city and Dublin before joining Ardfert Medical Centre in 2022,

Special interests ; Paediatrics, Womens health and contraception

Meet our nurses

Nurse Cliona O'Regan

Nurse Caroline Sampson

Cliona joined the practice in 2014.

She was worked extensively in general nursing in Ireland and the UK.

Her special interests are diabetes, cryotherapy, infertility, gynaecology, urology, wound care and podiatry.

Caroline joined the practice in 2017.

She has worked in the area of diabetes management and womens health with special certifications in dementia, care of the elderly, wound care, and medication management.

Meet our Psychotherapist

Psychotherapist Órlaith Greaney

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Arts in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy from the University of Limerick.

Honours Degree in Social Studies from Trinity College Dublin

Órlaith qualified originally as a Social Worker from Trinity College Dublin in 2002 and returned to university in 2014 to specialise in Psychotherapy.
Joining the team in Ardfert Medical Centre in 2019, Órlaith is committed to helping others work through issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, in order to live a better quality of life.
